The "Octopus Online Payment Service" is the first ever mobile payment solution that uses contactless smartcard to process online payments on Near Field Communication (NFC)-enabled Android mobile devices (NFC Devices). Consumers select "Octopus" as the payment method on the online merchant's payment page. They open the "Octopus" App and select "Online Payment". If purchasing at merchant's mobile app, the "Octopus" App will be started automatically. Then the consumer places their Octopus smartcard at the back of their NFC device until the payment receipt is shown. Upon successful payment on the NFC Device, they can view your payment records on the "Octopus" App or on the merchant's payment page.
